2nd time I bought this suit. Comfortable and good fit overall. Easy to spot from water in races.
I upgraded to the Bolt a couple of weeks ago from an Xterra wetsuit I got when I first started racing 6 years ago. First thing I noticed was the emphasis on packaging... well put together, and convinced me in unboxing that I was opening a quality product. Once I took it out, I noticed immediate differences vs. my old wetsuit. Thicker neoprene exactly where it's needed to help with posture, and much thinner around the shoulders and arms to promote range of motion.
BUT -- beware of sizing. I am 5'9" and 183 pounds, this places me barely into the Large. Trying it on dry after unboxing, I was nervous that it was a little loose (a wetsuit shouldn't take only 60 seconds to put on), but I didn't want to judge it until I raced in it. Since then, I've raced twice (one IM, one 8K swim) and and thoroughly convinced it's too big. The end of the sleeve catches a good bit of water on every stroke, and it just isn't snug anywhere a triathlon wetsuit should be. Lesson learned with wetsuits -- if your on the verge of two sizes, go smaller because they're meant to be tight (obviously not too constricting). Definitely wish I would have known that before I got one too big.
went from a sleeveless wetsuit to this and shaved 12 mins off my IM swim. At least 50% of that was the new suit
I stuck with the sizing chart, and the fit is spot on. Really appreciate the details on this suit. I’ve always been concerned with shoulder rotation in wetsuits, and this one allows for normal rotation without any issues. I’d buy it again if needed.
Only my second tri wetsuit but I’m kicking myself for holding out so long with my first one from another unnamed brand. Similar to other reviews this fits like a second skin…each time I put it on just amazed at how comfortable it is. I’m 6’ and 185 and chose a large size. Easy to put on and take off.
