I purchased this for a kayak/bike race. My viakobi kayak shorts have a pad, but in the wrong place and material for cycling. All of my cycling shorts absorb to much water in the pad for kayaking. My solution was a trip suit, that was meant to be worn in the water. The suit worked great, and a lot other racers mentioned what a great idea it was.
ZOOT trisuits are the best! Not only do they use top quality materiel and craftsmanship, they also get your items out to you quick! This suit fits great and the design is an "A" for AWESOME! I would highly recommend this suit! Sizing runs pretty true to size, but I elect to size down and go to a Large with ZOOT in comparison to other brands where I am normally a XL. Besides the design, the chamois is really good on this suit. Thank you ZOOT!
I have only taken the suit out on a test ride. I haven't swum or run in it yet. I was a little concerned about sizing. In my opinion, the sizing runs a tad large, so if you are on the cusp, maybe opt for the slightly smaller size. The only reason has to do with bunching of the material around the front pelvis when cycling. Now, luckily, that minor bunching didn't cause any issues for me.
I really like the pocket set up. It has one larger pocket on the back with side entry holes on each side, and then two pockets on your hip, and the pockets are relatively roomy (for a tri-suit). For perspective, the back pocket can easily fit a cell phone. The side pockets can each fit multiple gels, and even some flat tire repair items if you choose.
Since I haven't yet run in the suit, I don't have much to say about temperature management off the bike.
The only downside is that it is your typical, front zipper tri-suit, which means that unless you are hard-core and willing to pee in your suit, bathroom stops (even for men) are inconvenient and laborious.
However, seems like a great suit, will be racing in it in a few weeks.
This suit fit great and worked well for my first half Ironman. No chafing. Very well made.
