I grew up enjoying the beaches and ocean of Southern California, surfing and spending my summers in Jr. Lifeguards. High school brought with it football and a healthy loathing of endurance sports. After college, and packing on the pounds in law school, I took a hard swallow and started running. Much to my surprise, I enjoyed it. To my even greater surprise, I was decent. Soon after a friend convinced me to try my hand at triathlon and after a local mini sprint, I was hooked. The rest is history (in the making).
