I have beenn a competitive age group triathlete for 6 years now and I am the son of a previous multiple age group world record holder in Kona during the 1980's, my Mom.</p> <p><b>5 things we should know about you:</b> </p> <p>I am a huge STAR WARS and sci-fi fan.<br /> I build and collect models and props from sci-fi films.<br /> My wife Jamie is also a triathlete.<br /> I have two awesome golden retrievers named Chip and Dexter.<br /> My Mom was an age group Ironman World Champion as well as World Record holder during the 1980's. She raced her last Ironman in 1999 at Ironman Florida in under 12 hours at age 57.</p> <p><b>How did you first get into triathlons? </b></p> <p>Mom. :)<br /> Actually I started late, I only did my first triathlon when I was 36 and had moved to Arizona from Connecticut. I was looking to do more cross training.</p> <p><b>What was the first race you ever participated in and what place did you finish?</b></p> <p>My first triathlon was the 2006 Tempe International Triathlon where I finished in 2:24 and was 3rd in my AG.</p> <p><b>What is your favorite race?</b></p> <p>Ironman World Championships Kona, HI.</p> <p><b>What is your favorite workout?</b></p> <p>Long Bike.</p> <p><b>What are your favorite Zoot products and why?</b></p> <p>The shoe's have become my favorite, especially the new Kalani's. They are the perfect blend of comfort and performance. Also the new Prophet wet suit is amazing.</p> <p><b>What is your proudest accomplishment?</b></p> <p>Qualifying for Kona at my first Ironman, the 2007 Ironman Arizona, where I finsihed in 9:43, 4th in M35-39, and less then one year from my very first triathlon.
