I was looking for a new pair of shoes after having ran for years with very cushioned ones. I was looking for a shoe that would be dynamic, lightweight and cooler.With the Kalani, I found exactly what I was looking for.The extra bonus is that the shoe is having a good grip wich gives more speed (but also degrades the sole faster).I am just wondering if this will be a good model for winter as the fabric is very light. But for spring to autumn, there is no doubt in my mind.I also wrote a complete review (in french, sorry) on my blog. Here is the link [@]

I use them for my training runs, but they get a bit too hot during warm days. Ideal for winter training.
I changed the laces though.. for quick in and out while going through the transitions of bike / run

I wasnt totally sure about this shoe at first....the construction of the shoe is different than alot of the running shoes ive ever seen and the thought of running without socks had me scared. I weigh about 215 and I just finished my first marathon in these shoes in the rain and without socks.....no blisters and no knee pain as I have encountered with all my other neutral running shoes.The only thing I would like to see them change in the next version would be a quick lace system instead of the laces that came with them and a choice of colors.If you are in search of a high mileage shoe for a neutral foot give these a shot and if your like me youll probably never buy another brand

I am now on my third pair of the Ultra Kalani and will say they are a perfect fit for my feet and how I run.
So far this shoes has done great on my daily 5 mile runs and longer runs of 15+ miles. I am not the lightest guy (220 pounds) but this shoe is able to handle my weight without problems.
The shoe is constructed well, breathable but needs to hang dry, and eager to hit the road.
I would not recommend using this shoe as a trail shoe simply because it is not designed for that purpose.
