Beyond Expectations

I typically do not write reviews unless a product exceeds my expectations. I’m fairly new to swimming and have always struggled in completing 100 m freestyle without stopping. These shorts solved that problem! It allow me to stay in the streamline position and work on the catch/ pull. Great investment if you want to focus on your technique. My only feedback is to lengthen the drawstring cord.

Best flotation shorts I've ever owned

I swim for triathlon and use these shorts in training and sometimes, in racing if the conditions are wetsuit legal but warm outside. I like the length in particular, and at 6' 1" and 185 lbs. I bought an X-Large so that I don't have to yank and tug at the material, which in my Roka shorts wound up damaging them. The flotation qualities are excellent, and I make no apologies for wearing them in training. I came to triathlon late in life after a career as a runner (31:10 10K at prime, 1:10 HM) competitive cyclist etc. Swimming better took me a long time. I'm not up to workouts of 2000 yards and alternate swims with and without the shorts. I love the quality, the look and the fit. Highly recommend.

Amazing!

These are my second pair of buoyancy shorts. My first pair were Rokas and thought they were fine. Didn't have anything to compare them to though. The Rokas started flaking away around the waist so I decided to give these a try. Zoot's buoyancy shorts are leaps and bounds ahead of the Rokas. They are super comfortable, sizing was perfect, and they are super fast! I love the way they look too. I am 5'8" 160ish so the chart has me as a medium and medium fits great. Some people have been complaining about the drawstring...maybe I got some updated ones or something but no issues with that at all for me. Love these shorts!! I'll be sticking with Zoot!!

Superb swimwear!

I was using the TYR Hurricane shorts, but I didn’t like that you couldn’t really snug them up enough and water would creep in on the back side. These do not! Also, I shaved about 10 seconds per 100 off my average. I would highly recommend. I do agree with other reviewers that the drawstring should be a bit longer.

I love these trunks except for two issues, one minor, the other MAJOR:
1) As others have mentioned, the drawstring isn’t adequate. However I added a cord lock and they no longer slip down on turns in the pool. Problem fixed.
2) MAJOR ISSUE: I get a hive-like rash from wearing them and will have to discontinue using them it’s so bad. After visiting the dermatologist, conducting a bunch of test swims, and doing a lot of reading, I’ve figured out that I experience allergic reactions to the glue or neoprene used in the shorts. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin or any other skin conditions, so this is quite surprising. I want keep using the shorts but bumpy, burning, and itching nether regions make it impossible!
Not sure how these things are constructed but they are not in any way hypoallergenic. Too bad
